The most common snags and exactly what to do.
I pressed ⌘S but SameSet keeps waiting
Live only saves a set that has changed since the last save — an unchanged set is not written, so SameSet never sees a save. Change anything small (for example move a track’s volume and back) and press ⌘S again. If this is a new, never-saved set, Live first asks where to save it — choose a folder and click Save.
SameSet isn’t in the Control Surface list
Live reads Remote Scripts only when it starts. Quit Live completely (⌘Q) and open it again. If SameSet is still missing, open SameSet → menu → Add SameSet to Live again, then restart Live.
The app says “No connection to Live”
In Live open Settings → Link, Tempo & MIDI and check that one Control Surface slot says SameSet (Input and Output: None). Only one copy of Live can be connected.
I don’t see the panel over Live
The panel appears only while Live is the front window. Check menu bar → SameSet → Panel over Live is on. If it is collapsed into a dot, it may be in a screen corner — click the dot.
macOS won’t open SameSet
System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll down → Open Anyway next to SameSet. See Install and set up.
“The room is full”
Seats include the host: Free is you + 1 collaborator, Duo you + 3, Pro and Studio you + 9. The host can upgrade in SameSet → Plans, or someone can leave the room.
“The project is larger than your plan allows”
On Free a project with samples can be up to 100 MB. Remove unused samples (File → Manage Files → Unused) or choose Duo or higher.
Syncing paused: the time is up
The host’s hours for this period are used up. Everyone keeps the project. The host can switch plans and syncing continues immediately.
A plugin is silent for my friend
Plugins can’t be sent — they must be installed on every Mac. After installing, ask the host to press ⌘S so the preset is sent again, then click Update project.
Groups or automation didn’t appear
They are sent on save. Ask the person who made them to press ⌘S, then click Update project in your panel.
The project won’t open: made in a newer Live
A set saved in a newer Live may not open in an older one. Update Live to the same version as the host.
Notifications don’t show up
System Settings → Notifications → SameSet → allow notifications. Also check Focus modes.
The update failed
Make sure SameSet is in the Applications folder (not running from the disk image) and try Check for updates again. You can always download the latest version from sameset.app/download.
Where is the downloaded project?
In ~/Music/SameSet/room code/project name. In the full panel: Session → Show project in Finder.
How do I send the engine log to support?
Menu → Open engine log — attach the file ~/Library/Logs/SameSet/engine.log to your email.
