Working together

SameSet listens to Live from the inside and sends every change to the room. Most things appear for everyone in a fraction of a second.

Instantly

• Mixer: volume, pan, sends, mute and solo.
• Any device parameter — Live devices and plugin knobs that are configured in Live.
• Clips in Session and Arrangement: create, move, resize, split, delete, rename, colour.
• MIDI notes — drawing, moving, deleting, velocity.
• Tempo, time signature, groove, key and scale, scenes.
• New tracks and devices, their names and settings.
• Samples: drop a file into a track and it downloads for everyone and lands in the same place.

After you press ⌘S

Live doesn’t let other programs change some things directly. SameSet sends them when you save:

• Groups and the order of tracks.
• Automation in Arrangement.
• Plugin presets (Serum, Diva and other VST3/AU): the full plugin state is sent after ⌘S.

Others then see New version of the project · Update project. Clicking it reopens the set in a couple of seconds, with everything they did in the meantime kept.

Good habits

• Split the work by tracks. One person on drums, another on bass — you’ll rarely edit the same clip at the same moment.
• Talk in a voice call. SameSet syncs the project, not your voice — use Discord, FaceTime or Zoom alongside it.
• Save now and then. ⌘S also sends groups, automation and presets.
• Keep your own backups. SameSet is not a storage service: room files are deleted after the session.

If two people change the same thing

The later change wins for everyone. If you and a friend rename the same clip at once, you both end up with the same name within a second — nobody’s project drifts apart.

Recording audio

Recorded clips appear for others when you stop recording: the new audio file uploads and lands in the same place on the timeline.

If the internet drops

Keep working. The panel shows No connection to the server — reconnecting, and everything you did reaches the room as soon as you’re back online.
